Cookies

This page says what our shop stores in your browser. It is short, because we store very little: one cookie of our own, holding your basket. We do not track you, we do not measure traffic and we run no advertising scripts.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser and reads again on your next visit. Without cookies a website would remember nothing — not even what is in your basket.

Under Section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications, storing cookies requires consent. Cookies strictly necessary for a service you have requested are exempt.

2. Which cookies we use

We do not store the shop language in a cookie — the language is part of the URL (/cs/…, /en/…), so a link you share always opens in the same language. The only language cookie is cdg_admin_locale from the table above: it belongs to the shop administration, the owner sets it for themselves, and it is never stored in a customer's browser.

We use no analytics cookies (no Google Analytics or similar), no advertising cookies, no social network cookies and nothing that would track you across websites.

3. Why there is no consent banner

Because there is nothing to consent to. The cdg_cart cookie is strictly necessary for a service you request yourself (shopping), and the law does not require consent for it. The remaining cookies in section 2 belong to the shop administration: they are set only for the shop owner on /admin addresses and are never stored in a customer's browser. A banner whose only option would be to switch off your basket would help nobody.

If we ever start measuring traffic or using advertising tools, we will show a standard consent banner before any such script loads for the first time, and we will update this page.

4. Third-party cookies in the checkout

Two external services come into play in the checkout. Both load only when you need them, not while you browse the shop:

Stripe (card payment processing). The Stripe script loads once you start filling in the checkout. According to its documentation Stripe sets its own cookies for device recognition and fraud and card abuse prevention — in particular __stripe_mid (about 1 year) and __stripe_sid (about 30 minutes). These cookies serve payment security, not advertising. Details: https://stripe.com/legal/cookies-policy.

Zásilkovna (Packeta) — the pick-up point map. The script loads only when you click to choose a pick-up point. If you do not use it, it never loads. What that service stores in your browser is governed by its own terms: https://www.packeta.cz.

5. How to refuse or delete cookies

You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings — look for "Cookies", "Privacy" or "Site data". You can also do it per website.

Note that without the cdg_cart cookie the basket will not work and you will not be able to complete a purchase. This is not deliberate: the server needs to know what is in your basket in order to calculate the price.
